About Ajmer

Rajasthan-a land packed with history, art, culture that goes back several centuries, a place unequalled by any other place in the world. Ajmer surrounded by the Aravallis and located in the heart of Rajasthan, is the land of royalty and spiritualism. This remarkable city mirrors all shades that are archangelic and invigorating about Rajasthan, established in early 7th century by Ajaipal Chauhan and named Ajaimeru- the invincible hill. Ajmer is today a very important pilgrimage centre , a mesmerizing paradise for a visitor. Ajmer presents an uncustomary synthesis of Hindu culture with sufi traditions. Dargah Shariff of Hazarat Khwaja Muinuddin Chisti is indeed an excellent blending of spiritual and architectural beauty. Taragarh Fort, Magazine (Government Museum), Adhai-Din-Ka-Jhonpara, Nasiyan ( Red Temple), Ana Sagar Lake, Foy Sagar Lake, Nareli Tirth are stunningly beautiful and packed full of historic artifacts and monuments. Prestigious Mayo College, a school established by Britishers exclusively for Indian nobility, is one of the most recognized landmarks of Ajmer. The spiritual city Pushkar hardly needs an introduction. Suffice to say, this marvel of civilization began life with a mythical story, and it continues to amaze all who see it with a similar mythical presence and beauty. Pushkar is about 11 Kms. from Ajmer. It is known as Tirthraj and no pilgrimage is considered complete without a dip in the holy water of Pushkar Lake. It is the kind of place that is spectacular in every shade of light. Pushkar epitomizes the captivating charm of colors, flavors, folklore, traditions, and legends.
