Welcome to Indian Antenna Week 2012
A workshop on Advanced Antenna Technology

Dear Antenna engineering and science colleagues & students,

Warm Greetings to IAW 2012!

The IAW 2012 to be held in Gangtok, Sikkim and organized by the IEEE AP-MTT Chapter, IEEE Kolkata Section and UGC-Network Resource Centre in Physical Sciences, University of Calcutta will provide us a learning opportunity in a relaxed atmosphere. The venue Gangtok, being situated in the Shivalik Hills of the eastern Himalayan range features a subtropical highland climate. So, even in summer there will be a mild temperature. From the western part of this small Himalayan town, the Mount Kanchenjunga, the world's third-highest peak, is visible. There are many Buddhist Monasteries besides Phurchachu Reshi Hot Springs, Tasuklakhang - The Royal Chapel, Deer Park, Khecheopalri (wishing) Lake, Deer Park etc to keep your family members interested. You will be exposed to many tutorials by IEEE AP-S Distinguished Lectures, IEEE AP-S President, Antenna Practitioners from Defence, Space and Academics. These will cover various areas like Small Antennas, Antennas for Defence & Space Applications, DRAs, EBG based Antennas, Metamaterial Antennas, Plasmonic Antennas, Body Centric Antennas, Fractal Antennas, Optimization Techniques for Antennas etc. Besides, few contributed papers of very high quality shall also be presented during this event. If you are a M.Tech. or Ph.D. student, it is an excellent opportunity for you to present your work before International experts and take their advice (Please see the relevant portion in the web announcement).

During this difficult economic time, we have tried our best to suit it to the pocket of every participant. Even we are offering free participation for students from the North-Eastern part of the country, if they are pursuing a project in the field of Antennas. The details are available on the website.

In the end, let me inform you that this will be the last Annual and First Biennial IAW. The next one will be in 2014.

Looking forward to meet you during IAW 2012, which I am sure, will be a very rewarding experience for you.
